Global looks back on a fruitful 2022

The past year wasn’t without its challenges – think supply chain constraints, inflation, a tough labor market and the war in Ukraine – but all in all, 2022 was a fruitful and successful year for Global Partners.

One way to look at some of the highlights from Global’s 2022 is through numbers:

  •  $2M – How much Global donated to help low-income families cover the cost of heating oil.
  • ~8,500 – Meals donated by Alltown Fresh™ to first responders and nonprofits.
  •  64 – New retail locations.
  • 510 – Team members hired through acquisitions.
  • $12.5M – Amount raised for the Cystic Fibrosis|Multiple Sclerosis Fund since 2012.

Beyond the numbers, Global also made strides in a number of different areas. For example, this past year, the company expanded our focus on and investment in renewables. We secured funding for new electric vehicle charging stations at six of our retail locations, completed the installation of customizable biofuels systems at three terminals and improved rack efficiency and emissions reductions at two of our terminals.

In 2022, Global launched a new competition asking college and grad students to submit design concepts for the fuel station of 2030. Undergraduate and graduate student teams from across the Northeast submitted their designs. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three teams.

Technology played a big role in 2022 as well, as more customers turned to the Alltown Neighborhood Perks app while shopping in-store or purchasing fuel. We also deployed more than 140 Skip Self-Checkout Kiosk locations, making it easier for customers to get what they need.

And last but not least, we launched Global for Good, our new charitable initiative that will lead all of our philanthropy, fundraising and volunteer activities. Some of the activities now part of Global for Good include our heating oil donations, maintaining little league fields and our coin box campaign – which raised more than $200,000 for area nonprofits in 2022.

It was a year packed with highlights. Now we’re excited to head into 2023 and make even more positive impacts for our customers and our communities.
